About us
IDAU is an association founded in 2023 that brings together interior designers, architects, and industry professionals. It focuses on promoting innovative design practices, encouraging professional development, and improving the design and construction environment within our communities in Uganda.

In 2022, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) described creative industries as “cycles of creating, producing, and distributing goods and services that utilize creativity and intellectual capital as their main inputs.”
To effectively scale, grow, and make a meaningful impact on our communities, collaboration within our group is essential. This effort plays a significant role in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to eradicate poverty, create job opportunities, and enhance wellness, health, and sustainability in the environments where we live and work.

We plan to encourage designers to design based on our cultural identity, aesthetic fit, and sense of place, using our well-endowed local resources, providing economic income, jobs, and changing lives across multiple spheres of our economy: Residential, Commercial; Retail, Hospitality, Healthcare, Educational, Institutional, Religious - all are touched by interior design, creating wellness in space usage through design!

With 20 years in business, she has honed her expertise in Leadership & Organizational Development, Financial & Budgetary Management, Strategic Planning & Project Implementation, Mentorship & Counselling (Youth & Adults).


A devoted wife, mother, and Location Leader at Worship Harvest Church, Dr. Naki is driven by her passion for community building and empowerment.

natasha rubadiri

Natasha is a talented interior designer in Uganda with a rich, continent-spanning background that shapes her unique perspective.


Growing up in a nomadic family, she was exposed to diverse cultures and ways of living, fostering her adaptability and creativity. Her father, renowned poet and writer Professor David Rubadiri, who served as Malawi's Ambassador to the UN, instilled in her a creative spark that would define her future.


With extensive experience in interior design, Natasha excels at transforming spaces for private and corporate clients. Her expertise encompasses project management, team oversight, and timeline planning to ensure seamless project execution.


Beyond design, Natasha is a minister and certified John Maxwell Team Leader, leveraging her coaching, speaking, and training skills to empower young creatives.

She encourages them to embrace their authenticity and pursue their passions, making a lasting impact on the next generation of designers.
